Residents, businessmen, school students and others are facing severe inconvenience due to the power outage in several areas around Ingiriya and Handapangoda for 4 days.
This situation has arisen due to the downfall of several trees and the collapse of 3 high-voltage power lines in a wind that blew through the Raigam estate lacated ingiriya colombo main road . Although 4 days have passed since the collapse, it has not been restored. Residents of the area say that the indifferent actions of the Electricity Board employees are the reason for this.
Already, several areas including Handapangoda, Maha Ingiriya, Raigam estate, Imagira, st.peters collany, raayigampura colany, which are located on both sides of the Ingiriya-Colombo main road, have been without power for 4 days. In these areas, there are people who run various businesses, as well as large-scale industries and plantation factories. All those parties have been affected by this situation.
In addition, those who leave for other provinces for work and children who are preparing for the O/Level Examination have also been severely affected by this situation.
Since the Handapangoda area is the hometown of the Minister of Power and Energy, Engineer Kumara Jayakody, the residents of the area are requesting that steps be taken to restore the electricity supply.
