According to airport sources, the plane carrying the body of Anula Jayathilaka, who died in the attack on Israel by Hamas terrorists, has arrived in Sri Lanka this morning. It is reported that the body will be handed over to the family members after following the normal procedure for dead bodies brought from abroad.
The Israeli government has recognized all the foreigners, including the Sri Lankans who worked in Israel, who died and were injured in the attacks by Hamas, as Israeli nationals. Accordingly, the Israeli government has taken responsibility for their funeral expenses.
