The annual honey offering by the tribals to the Sacred Tooth Relic today.

The honey offering performed by the tribals every year to the Sacred Tooth Relic was performed according to ancient rituals at the Sri Dalada Maligawa in Kandy today (23). This offering will be performed in the morning on the day when the first Randoli Perahera of the Senkadagala Esala Perahera will tour the streets.

Accordingly, a group of tribals consisting of ninety-five people led by the tribal leader Vanaspathi Uruwarige Vannilatthan participated in this honey offering.

Diyawadana Nilame Pradeep Nilanga Dela welcomed the tribals at the Sri Dalada Maligawa and then the honey offering was performed to the Sacred Tooth Relic. Following the puja, the Diyawadana Nilame of the Sri Dalada Maligawa presented gifts to the group as a token of gratitude for the hospitality rendered by the indigenous people.

Following this traditional puja, the tribal leader and the main group of people are scheduled to participate in the first Randoli Perahera.
