A tense situation emerged following police intervention during the ‘Thyagam Thyagi’ Thileepan commemoration program held at the Nallur memorial grounds in Jaffna.

Organizers state that while police permission is required for large-scale loudspeakers, only small, low-volume speakers were used to play commemorative songs; against this backdrop, they claim the police acted unlawfully by seizing even these small devices.
