Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananda Wijepala said in Parliament today (05) that statements have been recorded from 91 people in connection with the incident in which hackers obtained $2.5 million belonging to the Treasury.
He further said that the 91 people whose statements were taken are from officials working in the Department of Foreign Resources of the Treasury, the Public Debt Management Office and the Central Bank.
He stated that information has been requested from the United States, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland and Zambia through the ‘MLA’ mechanism to obtain bank account information and digital evidence required for the investigation.
