SriLankan Airlines, which is going to sell, save 21 million rupees by changing the carpet.

SriLankan Airlines, which has decided to restructure due to continuous losses, has introduced ‘green carpet’ for its planes. It is reported that this will reduce the weight of the aircraft and increase the fuel efficiency and as a result 21 million rupees can be saved annually.

Using these carpets can reduce carbon emissions and reduce environmental damage by 248.79 tons.

These green carpets are lightweight and made from a special type of nylon that is made by recycling discarded fishing nets, plastics and textiles using minimal fuel and water. They are manufactured by “Lantal Textiles” in Switzerland.

The new decision is another positive step taken by SriLankan Airlines to protect the global environment.
