SriLankan Airlines increases flights to Melbourne .

Considering the growing tourist demand, SriLankan Airlines has reportedly planned to increase the number of weekly flights between Colombo and Melbourne to 10, effective from August 2.

Under the new schedule, three additional flights are scheduled to operate every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Sri Lankan Airlines says that with the implementation of this new service, it will facilitate Sri Lankans living in Australia, Sri Lankan students studying there, as well as tourists traveling to regional countries including India.

The increased flights will make Katunayake Airport a regional aviation hub, and a new access route will be opened for Indian passengers to travel to Melbourne via Sri Lanka, the company says.
