Dr. Harshada Silva, Member of Parliament of Samagi Jana Balawega, said that the GSP concession given to Sri Lanka by the European Union has now expired, and to get it back, an application must be submitted again. He emphasized that like Sri Lanka, six other Asian countries will have to face this situation.
He further said that if the government does not remove the Anti-Terrorism Act, this relief will stop and our country will not be entitled to it. He mentioned that the European Union will make a decision about the countries that will be given GSP again from 2024 to 2033 and there are twenty-seven agreements in the European Union for that.
