President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and his team receive a warm welcome in China

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, who left for a state visit to China at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping, arrived at the Beijing International Airport in China this morning.

The Sri Lankan President was warmly welcomed by Chinese Vice Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong. The Chinese military presented a special honor to the Sri Lankan President and the airport was decorated with the national flags of the two countries.

Several memorandums of understanding are scheduled to be signed between the two countries during this visit. In addition, the Sri Lankan President is scheduled to participate in several field trips focusing on technological and agricultural development, poverty alleviation, etc. It is reported that the Sri Lankan President will also participate in several high-level business meetings.

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment and Tourism Vijitha Herath, Minister of Transport, Highways, Ports and Civil Aviation Bimal Ratnayake, Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Qi Zhenhong, and Sri Lankan Ambassador to China Majintha Jayasinghe are also participating in this visit.
