Sashindra Rajapaksa’s case ordered to be taken up on July 10.

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption informed the court today that it has concluded its investigation into the allegations of illegally obtaining compensation of Rs. 8.85 million against former State Minister Shashindra Rajapaksa and three others.

This was when the case was taken up before Colombo Additional Magistrate Lahiru Silva. Accordingly, the Magistrate ordered the case to be taken up again on July 10.

Although Shashindra Rajapaksa has claimed compensation for the destruction of a building and several properties belonging to him in the Sevanagala area during the struggle, investigations have revealed that the properties in question were illegally constructed on land belonging to the Sri Lanka Mahaweli Authority.
