Russia has strongly protested the government’s decision to allow anti-Russian displays at the World Press Photo Exhibition at the Colombo Independence Square Arcade.
The Russian Ambassador to Colombo, Levan S. Dhagaryan, told The Island that he was “quite surprised and disappointed” by the move.
He called the exhibition, which opened on January 10, an “anti-Russian act.”
The exhibition will be open to the public from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. until January 20, organizers said.
