The Royal College of Colombo won the ‘144th Battle Blue’ by 181 runs, which was held between the Royal College of Colombo and St. Thomas College of Mt.Lavina
Batting first, the Royal team scored 326 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their first innings. Then St. Thomas came to bat and collected only 153 runs in their first innings. Royal College scored 168 runs in their second innings and St. Thomas College were bowled out for 161 runs in their second innings.
President Ranil Wickremesinghe, who was a royalist, was also present to watch the match. He also joined in presenting the championship to the victorious Royal team. Due to the victory, the Royal College has declared a special holiday on Sunday 20th March.
