Rambukwella family indicted

The Bribery Commission has filed indictments against former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, his wife, three daughters and son-in-law under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act and the 43 charges, the Bribery Commission said.

The indictments were filed when the case was taken up before Colombo High Court Judge Lanka Jayaratne and the six accused were released on bail.

Accordingly, they were released on a cash bail of Rs. 50,000 and two sureties of Rs. 1 million each. In addition, a travel ban was imposed and fingerprints were ordered to be taken. The judge also ordered that a previous criminal record be called.

Former Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, his wife Kusum Priyadarshani, daughters Amali Rambukwella, Nayanika Rambukwella, Chandula Rambukwella and son-in-law Isuru Pulasthi Bandara were indicted.
