Our correspondents say that a train running from Colombo to Batticaloa was stopped for more than two hours due to a protest by a group of protesters who stopped it at Swaisgama area of Batticaloa.
A group of nearby residents had protested saying that it was difficult to access their village due to the repair of the railway line. The protest has ended after paving stones on the relevant part of the railway line.
