President Anura Kumara Dissanayake paid homage to the Tooth Relic during his visit to Kandy today (01) and sought blessings for the new year. The President also met with the Chief Incumbents of Malwatte and Asgiri.
The President, who visited the historic Temple of the Tooth Relic this morning, participated in religious rituals held before the Tooth Relic and engaged in cordial conversations with the people who had come to pay homage to the historic Tooth Relic to usher in the new year.
After that, President Anura Kumara Dissanayake visited the Malwatte Maha Viharaya and met with the Chief Incumbent of Malwatte, Most Venerable Thibbatuwawe Sri Sumangala Thero, inquired about his well-being and had a brief conversation.
The Deputy Registrar of the Malwatta Maha Viharaya, Royal Pandita Darshanapati Venerable Mahawela Rathanapala Nayaka Thero, was also present at the event and the Theros chanted Seth Pirith and expressed their blessings to the President.
