The Ministry of Buddhasasana, Religious and Cultural Affairs has decided to restore the police security that was removed from the historic Kurundi Rajamaha Viharaya in Mullaitivu.
This decision was reportedly taken in response to a letter sent to the ministry by the Chief Incumbent Venerable Galgamuwe Santhabodhi Thero requesting that the police security that was removed from Kurundi Viharaya be restored. .
It is reported that the Minister in charge of the subject, Dr. Hiniduma Sunil Senevi, has already informed the Chief Incumbent Thero that immediate steps will be taken to restore the necessary police security for the temple.
