“Rathmalane Saima”, who is said to be a close associate of Kanjipani Imran, an organized criminal who was arrested in Malaysia and brought to this country, has been granted permission to be detained for 48 hours for questioning,
The Police Media Division stated that this order was given after he was produced before the Kandy Magistrate’s Court. “Rathmalane Saima” was handed over to the Peradeniya Police Station last night (10) for further investigations.
An organized criminal who had been issued a red notice by a team of officers from the Walana Central Anti-Corruption Unit with the assistance of the Malaysian Police and Interpol had been arrested in that country.
The other two suspects who were arrested in Malaysia and brought to this country are scheduled to be produced before the Negombo Magistrate’s Court today (11).
