The Public Utilities Commission of Sri Lanka announced today that electricity bills will be reduced by 20%.
Accordingly, electricity bills for household electricity units 0-30 will be reduced by 29%, for units 31-60 by 28%, for units 61-90 by 19%, and for units 91-180 by 19%. The Public Utilities Commission has announced that the overall reduction in domestic electricity bills is 20%.
In addition, electricity bills have been reduced by 12% for general purposes, 11% for government institutions, 31% for hotels, 30% for industries, 21% for religious places and 11% for street lamps.
