New work from Minister Manusha to give allowance to all those who do not have pension, ETF/ EPF

Minister Manusha Nanayakkara says that the cabinet has approved the proposal to provide social security benefits to all workers who have reached the age of 55 working in various industries.

He said that the preparation of legal provisions for this process, which will be prepared in parallel with “respectful” work, has also been started.

The Minister also said that many subjects have the opportunity to register under the website https://garusaru.lk/

“Especially for journalists, local journalists, painters, tricycle drivers, bus drivers who cannot form trade unions, we are creating a program through which they can register and strengthen themselves and build their dignity. I got the approval to prepare the report of the cabinet.

The country’s labor force receives a pension in the public sector. Private sector gets ETF/ EPF. But in other Sri Lanka, we provide a social welfare system to those who have no compensation after the age of 55. They are also given the right to retire as a stipend. We will present it to the cabinet next week and we will start the process of making the necessary legal provisions.” He said.
