The National Museum in Colombo and other regional museums have revised their opening dates and times for public exhibition from September 1, said Sanuja Kasthuri Arachchi, Director General of the Department of National Museums.
The Department of National Museums stated that all museums under the National Museums Department will be closed for maintenance every Monday of the week and will not be open for public exhibition.
The museum will also be closed on public holidays including National Independence Day, two Sinhala and Hindu New Year holidays, Labour Day and Vesak Poya Day.
The Colombo National Museum and the National Museum of Natural History will be open from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, while regional museums will be open from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. (The issuance of tickets will end at 4:00 PM.)
The Department of National Museums also states that the issuance of the combined ticket for visiting the Colombo National Museum and the Natural History Museum will end at 3:00 PM.
