Minister Tiran Alas is preparing to write all Sri Lankans names in the police book.

Minister of Public Security Tiran Alas says that the entire population of Sri Lanka will be registered with the police in order to suppress the increasing crimes in the country. He stated this in Parliament today.

The Minister stated this while replying to a question raised by Member of Parliament Mano Ganesan stating that the Tamil community residing in the Colombo area will be registered with the police.

Minister Tiran Alas said that the Ministry of Public Security has decided to register all the people of Sri Lanka in this way, regardless of ethnicity.

For this purpose, the registration forms printed in all the three languages will be distributed.

He mentioned that there is also a plan to create an online data system about the Sri Lankan population so that any person can be identified at any time.
