The 90th anniversary of the Public Health Inspectors Association of Sri Lanka was held at the “Rose Garden” function hall in Kadawatha under the patronage of the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa.
Here, officers who have served as Public Health Inspectors for a long time were appreciated and presented with mementos with the participation of the Minister. The Minister also launched the Voice of Public Health, Facebook page and YouTube channel of the Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors Association.
Speaking here, the Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayatissa, said that some change in the direction of the free health service in the country should be made. He also said that health professionals have a special role to play in this.
The Minister emphasized that the current government is utilizing the experience gained over 112 years as public health inspectors in solving the health problems of the rural people, and that there is a need to urgently bring the public health inspector profession in this country to the level where the public health inspector profession has now advanced internationally.
