It is reported that the Dharmashala located in the upper courtyard of the historic Mihintale Rajamaha Viharaya is at risk of sinking. This has been revealed by the investigations carried out by the engineers of the Geology and Mining Department. They have also stated that the Giribanna Seya in Mihintale is also at risk of collapse.
After a formal engineering inspection, they have confirmed this dangerous situation and have informed that necessary measures should be taken very soon.
