Foreign media reports that several Sri Lankans are being held hostage by Hamas. Commenting on this, Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel Nimal Bandara said that he has also received information that Sri Lankans and foreign nationals are among the hostages held by Hamas.
He said that it is believed that among the 150 hostages held by Hamas, there are foreigners from 36 countries including these Sri Lankans.
He mentioned that information has been received that 17 Sri Lankans who were in the north of the Gaza Strip are traveling to its southern part and they are traveling to Egypt along with other people.
