Sundara Nihatamaani de Mel’s “Mani’s Column”, considered to be the longest-running column in a newspaper in Sri Lanka, will be published as a book at the Colombo International Book Fair to be held at the Bandaranaike International Conference Hall tomorrow.
Mani’s column, which started in 1989 with the “Divaina Sunday “, was moved to the “Lakbima Sunday ” in 1994 and to “Sathiaga Aruna” in 2019. Today, it has been published in three national newspapers for thirty-six years.
The book “Mani’s Column NOT OUT 36”, which will be released tomorrow, will contain eighty columns written from 2018 to 2025. On that day, Professor Nirmal Ranjith Dewasiri and former Chairman of the Election Commission Mahinda Deshapriya will deliver lectures on Mani’s column. The session will be moderated by Saman Athaudahetti.
