Former President Maithripala Sirisena says that the Sri Lanka Freedom Party and himself are ready to join the government. But he says that he should be given the president before that.
He emphasized that he will not accept anything autherthan Presidentcy, and that neither he nor his party have any interest in getting the position of Prime Minister or Minister of the government.
He said that divisions in political parties are normal and they have become a common issue for all parties today. The former president said this while addressing the media after a discussion held at the Sri Lanka Freedom Party headquarters.
