The National Water Supply and Drainage Board says that the repair of the damaged pipe that carries water from Labugama – Kalatuwawa Reservoir to Maharagama is still going on and the water supply will be available by midnight today (17).
At around 2 am this morning, a car collided with a pipe carrying water from Kalatuwa to Maharagama in Godagama area on the High Level Road and there was an accident.
Due to this situation, the water supply to Godagama, Homagama, Pannipitiya, Rukmalgama, Palanwatta and Matthegoda has been suspended.
It is reported that the speeding car ran off the road in Godagama area and hit the relevant water pipe and overturned.
