Lula da Silva to Sri Lanka.

The Embassy of Sri Lanka in Brazil has issued a press release saying that the Brazilian President Lula da Silva has accepted the request to come for a visit to Sri Lanka.

The announcement further mentions that Ambassador Eduardo Paes Saboya, Secretary of the Asia and Pacific Region of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, said this at the 76th Independence Day ceremony held at the Sri Lankan Embassy last week.

“Brazilian President Lula da Silva is very interested in visiting Sri Lanka, this year will be a year in which the relations between the two countries will increase,” said Eduardo Paes Saboya.

The announcement further states that the leaders of Sri Lanka and Brazil will meet in Dubai in conjunction with COP28 in December 2023, and that there will be more opportunities to further strengthen the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in 2024.
