The Disaster Management Center states that people in several districts have been affected due to the prevailing bad weather conditions.
Accordingly, due to heavy rains, strong winds and landslides, 47 people belonging to 11 families in Kandy district have been affected and 11 houses have been partially damaged. 04 houses have been damaged in Ratnapura district and 21 people have been affected.
Meanwhile, the National Building Research Organization has taken steps to issue landslide warnings with the heavy rain falling in many areas.
The National Building Research Organization has informed that Ella Divisional Secretariat Division in Badulla District is under alert level 2.
A first stage landslide warning has also been issued for the risk areas of Badulla, Kandy, Kegalle and Ratnapura districts.
The warning notices will be issued today (18) at pm. From 4:00 p.m. tomorrow (19) The National Building Research Organization says that it is valid until 4:00 p.m.
