Keheliya undergoes major surgery.

The case filed against Keheliya Rambukwella and his family members on charges of paying salaries and allowances to outsiders who were allegedly working as his personal staff during his tenure as the Environment Minister and crediting the money to their bank accounts was taken up yesterday.

His lawyers, who presented evidence before the court, informed the Colombo High Court through medical reports that their client is not in a good enough health to face trial due to a back surgery.

Colombo High Court Judge Mohamed Mihal, who considered the reports, ordered the case to be taken up on February 13.

In addition to the former minister, the Bribery or Corruption Commission has filed this case against his son Ramitha Rambukwella, his eldest daughter Amali Rambukwella and a maid named Nipuni Krishnajina.
