A powerful earthquake that struck southwestern Japan has killed 13 people and left nearly 10 others missing, foreign media reports.
The earthquake, measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale, struck yesterday (28), prompting a tsunami warning. The quake left many people trapped in homes and shopping malls, and rescue operations are still underway, media reports say.
It is believed that the missing people may be trapped in collapsed buildings. The earthquake struck Kyushu, Japan’s third largest island.
