Iran responds to US proposal to end Gulf War.

Iran has responded to a US proposal to end the Gulf War, Al Jazeera reported. Iran has sent its nuclear weapons to peace mediator Pakistan and will soon hand them over to the US, Al Jazeera’s Kamal Haider in Islamabad reported. The news was also confirmed by Iran’s state news agency IRNA.

Washington sent Iran a 14-point proposal earlier this week. Under its terms, Iran must agree not to develop a nuclear weapon and to stop enriching uranium for at least 12 years.

In addition, the US proposals call for the transfer of 440 kilograms (970 pounds) of uranium estimated to be 60% enriched.

In return, the US has agreed to gradually lift sanctions against Iran. It has also agreed to release billions of dollars in frozen Iranian assets and end its naval blockade of Iranian ports.
