It is reported that the passenger ferry service between India and Kankesanthurai, which was suspended due to adverse weather conditions in the past, is scheduled to resume from tomorrow (02).
The shipping company operating the service had taken steps to provide passengers with the opportunity to reserve seats a week in advance for the passenger ferry service that will resume tomorrow.
The shipping company also expects to operate passenger traffic on all days of the week except Sundays.
The fare for traveling from Nagapatnam, India to Kankesanthurai through this ferry service is Rs. 35,000.
The ferry service, which began last year (2024), had been decided to be suspended due to severe cyclones and storms affecting the northern sea border in October, November and December, as well as flood effects.
However, the Sivagangai Shipping Company, which operates the shipping service, has taken note of the severe impact of the monsoon rains on this shipping service and has taken steps to obtain the necessary technical advice to find an alternative.
