Sri Lanka women’s team lost to India by 9 wickets in the first match of the 2025 Women’s Tri-Series involving India, Sri Lanka and South Africa.
The match, held at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo, was played as a 39-over match due to rain. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss and invited the hosts to bat first.
Sri Lanka were bowled out for 147 runs with opening batsman Hasini Perera scoring 30 runs in 46 balls with the help of 4 boundaries.
Sneha Rana was the bowler for India, taking 3 wickets for 31 runs.
In reply, India managed to surpass Sri Lanka’s total by 9 wickets in the 30th over.
Smriti Mandhana gave them a brisk start, while the other opener Pratibha Rawal and No. 3 batsman Harleen Deol put on an unbeaten 95-run stand for the second wicket to guide India to victory.
