Indian High Commissions pressured not to disclose the Indo-Lanka security pact.
Diplomatic sources reveal that India has opposed the disclosure of the security pact signed with India during Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Sri Lanka.
Accordingly, the Indian High Commission in Colombo has also paid close attention to the opposition political parties that are clamoring for the disclosure of the security pact.
Sources also state that high-ranking diplomats at the Indian High Commission have informed certain political parties not to fight for the disclosure of the security pact.
Embassy sources further reveal that India’s position is that if the agreement signed with India is disclosed, China may also enter into an agreement with similar conditions.
