IMF issued a announcement

The delegation of the International Monetary Fund that visited the srilanka has issued an announcement after completing their its visit today. Mr. Krishna Srinivasan, Director of IMF’s Asia-Pacific Department, headed the delegation.

Mr. Krishna Srinivasan had said,

“We held productive discussions with President Dissanayake and the Sri Lanka Economic Team regarding the economic and financial challenges facing the Sri Lankan economy. We agreed on the importance of continuing to defend hard-won gains after the severe economic crisis Sri Lanka faced in 2022. We are encouraged by the authorities’ commitment to reform efforts. The International Monetary Fund is a steadfast partner in supporting Sri Lanka and its people and stands ready to assist in achieving the country’s economic reform goals. The IMF team is in close contact with the Economic Team of Sri Lanka to set a date for the third review of the IMF-supported programme.”
