During the bilateral talks hekd yesterday between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake, Indian Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar , the Sri Lankan President emphasized that India’s economic support is very important for creating a prosperous Sri Lanka, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs said in a statement.
The Sri Lankan President mentioned the possibility of exporting renewable energy to India, which can reduce production costs in Sri Lanka and create additional resources, according to the Indian Foreign Ministry.
Recalling the contribution of Indian tourists to Sri Lanka, President Anura Dissanayake also admitted that there is a possibility to further develop it.
The announcement states that the President of Sri Lanka emphasized that Sri Lankan territory will never be used adversely to India’s security interests.
