Vadivel Suresh, Member of Parliament of Samagi Jana Balavega said that even though the people of Plantation area are at the poor level economically, they are an intelligent group of people, and therefore they will make a good decision in the up coming presidential election.
That is why he said that on (15th) he participated as the chief guest in an event held at Rosella Ganesha Tamil Maha Vidyalaya in Vatawala . After the event, the member of parliament who spoke to the media said:
“The president also says that there is a presidential election, I think that the election commissioner will act according to the consituation. A new president should be appointed by October according to the consituation.
The country is now facing economic problems, so it is necessary to forget the color and party differences and elect a suitable person as the president. Otherwise, the country will fall again, you can see what has happened to Pakistan
To become a president of this country, you need to get 51% of the votes, instead of dividing the votes into parties, everyone needs to come together and elect one president.
We need to solve the housing and education problems of the people in the mountains, and we are discussing with the plantation companies about increasing the wages of plantation workers. Our people are not asking for Eelam, they are not asking for weapons, they are only asking for a salary that is suitable for the work they are doing,” he said.
