ICC boss coming to Sri Lanka

According to political sources, International Cricket Council (ICC) President Greg Barclay has informed the President that he will immediately visit Sri Lanka to investigate the ban on Sri Lankan cricket and discuss it with President Ranil Wickremesinghe.

The sources further stated that President Ranil Wickremesinghe has given this information while replying to an email sent to the Chairman of the International Cricket Council to lift the ban on cricket.

It is heard that Sri Lanka’s cricket ban has been extended due to the strong opposition of two officials of the International Cricket Council’s Executive Committee.

The reasons for this are that they both know from experience how the Minister of Sports has previously acted in relation to rugby and football, and also that after the appointment of the Cricket Interim Committee, the Cabinet Sub-Committee was appointed to look into the matter without disbanding it. Because of this, the International Cricket Council has decided to further study the political interference being done to the Sri Lanka Cricket Institute.
