It is reported that the approval of the Executive Committee of the International Monetary Fund for the extended credit facility to Sri Lanka is to be announced today (20).
The Ministry of Finance announces that the Executive Committee of the International Monetary Fund is scheduled to meet tonight, Sri Lanka time, and a final decision will be reached regarding the approval.
The financial facility of the International Monetary Fund is to be received in 4 years and it is expected that the first installment of 300 million US dollars will be received at the end of March. At the same time, the World Bank, the Asian Development Bank, the Paris Club and friendly countries are going to return to Sri Lanka. Accordingly, the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank will provide a loan of 2.5 billion dollars to Sri Lanka, foreign media reports.
It is stated that after the committee meeting held today, the Executive Committee of the International Monetary Fund will announce the relevant decision through a special press conference.
