Former Minister Basil Rajapaksa has once again met President Ranil Wickremesinghe to discuss the upcoming election plan. It is also reported that one of the main objectives of this discussion is to draw the attention of the President regarding the holding of a general election in the first place.
The president has directly mentioned that the presidential election will be held in the future and he will present himself as the candidate of his alliance. Basil Rajapaksa has said that there is no decision yet regarding the candidate that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna will support in the presidential election.
