Hunters chase the Agbo

Thirppane police have arrested four youths who illegally tried to take close-up photos of the Agbo elephant with a drone camera and the drone with the camera they used to take the photos.

According to the report, Tasker Agbo, who suffered a gunshot wound to one leg, was treated and released under the care of wildlife department surgeons and is now frequenting the Tirappane area.

The suspects have been identified as residents of Maho, Meethotamulla, Kumbukweva, Anuradhapura.

Acting on a tip-off from the Sri Lanka Air Force Intelligence Division that a suspicious drone was seen in the sky of Tirappane, the police managed to arrest this group.

It is reported that the Sri Lanka Air Force has started an investigation regarding this foreign-made drone camera.
