Journalists asked about Udayanga Weeratunga’s statement that the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna would nominate Dhammika Perera as the presidential candidate and Namal Rajapaksa as the prime minister.
In response, he said that former Sri Lankan Ambassador to Russia Udayanga Weeratunga is an outsider who has nothing to do with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna, and his statements have no value.
Sagara Kariyawasam said that they would consider supporting President Ranil Wickremesinghe if he left the United National Party and joined the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
