The Ministry of Education has published the lists of graduates who have qualified for the first phase of interviews to recruit teachers for 23,006 vacancies in the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service. This recruitment drive aims to fill teacher vacancies in the Sinhala, Tamil, and English media across national and provincial schools, specifically for Grade 3-I (a) of the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service. Applications were invited from graduates in both the public and non-public sectors.
The Department of Examinations conducted the relevant written examination on May 24, 2026, and the associated lists are being published on the Ministry’s official website today.
Applicants can verify their eligibility by visiting the relevant provincial webpage and checking the list corresponding to their province of residence. These lists have been compiled based on the examination medium and the relevant gazette notification. Candidates can check whether they have qualified for the interview stage by using their examination index number or National Identity Card number. The Ministry has advised eligible applicants to carefully read all instructions and relevant documents published alongside the lists. Candidates requiring documents from the respective universities are advised to apply for them before October 20, 2026.
These interviews are scheduled to be held in November 2026. Letters specifying the venue, date, and time of the interview will be mailed to the candidates in due time.
