The registration of two sports associations and three federations at the national level has been temporarily suspended by a special gazette notice issued by the Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs Harin Fernando on December 22.
The registration of Sri Lanka Archery Association, Sri Lanka National Wheel Shoe Association, Sri Lanka Kabaddi Federation, Sri Lanka Bridge Federation and Sri Lanka Wrestling Federation has been temporarily suspended.
Also, the Director General of the Sports Development Department, Rear Admiral Shemal Fernando, has been appointed as the competent authority to temporarily carry out the administration and other tasks of the five associations/confederations and to convene the relevant elections.
