Government employees who submitted their nominations as candidates for the local government elections that were to be held last March have been given cabinet approval to work in the nearest local government division apart from the district in which they are contesting.
Accordingly, it is stated in the relevant cabinet decision that the decision has been taken taking into consideration the observations issued by the Election Commission regarding the measures to be taken until the election of the government employees. Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena has submitted the relevant proposal to the cabinet.
