The Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government has ordered that the national flag be flown at half-mast in all government institutions during the three-day national mourning period declared due to the passing away of veteran musician and scholar Nanda Malani.
Accordingly, the national flag is scheduled to be flown at half-mast for three days today (21), tomorrow (22) and the day after tomorrow (23).
In this regard, the Secretaries of Ministries, Provincial Chief Secretaries, District Secretaries/Government Agents, Heads of Departments, Corporations and Statutory Boards have been informed under Home Affairs Circular No. 04/2026. The said circular has been issued under the signature of the Secretary of the Ministry of Public Administration, Provincial Councils and Local Government, S. Aloka Bandara.
