Further consideration of the writ petition filed by former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa seeking an order preventing his arrest and detention is scheduled to be called today (23). The former President appeared at the Court of Appeal a few moments ago to appear in it.
Deputy Solicitor General Suharshi Herath, who appeared on behalf of the Director of the Criminal Investigation Department, Shani Abeysekara, and a group of others named as respondents in the petition, stated before the court that the petitioner has not presented any evidence to establish that Shani Abeysekara acted maliciously.
