Former President Maithripala Sirisena said at a press conference in Jaffna Nallur that he had no knowledge of the death of LTTE leader Velupilla Prabhakaran or the alleged genetic test conducted in connection with his death.
The former president who spoke further said, “I worked as the Deputy Minister of Defense for two weeks during the last war. But I don’t know anything about it. No one told me anything about it. Not informed. Later, I tried to get related information through the Right to Information Act, but the army prevented it,” he further said in reply to the journalists.
During the last battle, President Mahinda Rajapaksa was abroad and Minister Maithripala Sirisena was the Acting Defense Minister at that time.
