Former Chairman of the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation Dhammika Ranatunga has been arrested by the Bribery Commission.
He has been arrested by the Bribery Commission on charges of causing a loss of nearly Rs. 800 million to the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation by cancelling 03 long-term tenders that were scheduled to purchase fuel for the year 2017-2018 and instead implementing spot tenders at higher prices.
The arrested suspect is scheduled to be produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court. Dhammika Ranatunga represented the Sri Lankan cricket team and is the brother of former captain Arjuna Ranatunga.
